CLI reference

The package publishes the nova executable and the compass alias. Use nova --help as the version-accurate option list.

Use the current implementation

Common entry points:

nova
nova -p "<prompt>"
nova --version
nova --help
nova setup --help
nova mcp --help

The current CLI includes options for print mode, attachments, continuation, working directory, setup bypass, authentication, diagnostics, agents, and Git worktrees. Exact flags and value choices are version-specific; do not copy an option from another release without checking help.

Boundaries and safety

The CLI does not guarantee that every command is available in every authentication or policy state. Never place credentials in shell history or prompts.
